In order to understand properly the CP, one must remember the direction in which the money flows: from church to state convention to SBC ministries. 
The CP not only maximizes the effect of each dollar given, but also minimizes the time and effort each ministry must spend in raising its funds. In fact, because of the CP each separate ministry can devote its full time and effort to doing ministry, not to fundraising!
